About the event

Join The Silva x The Art Island Gallery for the opening night of artist Emon Surakitkoson's solo exhibit. This exhibit is on view May 8 through September 6.

Artist Statement:

For this series, I am inspired by the patterns and colors of Thai textiles—materials connected to farmers and older generations, often worn as everyday clothing like a sarong—and the simple ways people create fun and meaning in life. Painted with my handmade “immigrant brush” into contemporary Thai temple flowers, this work reflects my experience as an immigrant and my hope that people can see the value of different cultures. It’s about how we can share knowledge, learn from one another, and create something beautiful together.

Curated by Beth Ferraro | The Art Island
